What They Do
Abraham Eye Associates is a multi-functional facility combining the highest optometric medical care services and a boutique dispensary for high-end, fashionable eyewear. It’s the best of both worlds, so patients don’t have to go to a different location to get the glasses or the medical service you want, making it unique to the industry.
Mark Abraham’s inspiration came from longtime patients, who wanted to stay with him even when he was moving on from his last practice. Mark wanted to be able to ensure patients that they would be getting the high level of medical care that he believes in. It was a risk to start his own practice, but a worthwhile one, as it allows him to perform at the level Mark knows his patients deserve.
What Sets Them Apart
Patients go where their insurance allows them to go. And if that patient’s insurance doesn’t pay out as much as other insurers do, some doctors give that patient less time, or sub-par service, in order to fit in more patients and make more profit. Abraham Eye Associates gives the highest level of care no matter what insurance the patient has. Abraham Eye Associates never rushes its patients, and always makes sure everything is fully explained to the patient.
Abraham Eye Associates goes the extra mile. If one of their patients has a question about their insurance benefits, a staff member will pick up the phone and call the insurance company to figure it out for them. As they understand how the process works, they’re able to get more information than the patient is.
A New Office
Abraham Eye Associates brand new office on the Main Line has plenty of parking, is handicapped accessible, and is easy to get to. It’s a warm, welcoming environment for their patients. And once you walk past the comfortable waiting room and showroom, you enter the spacious exam rooms, filled with the latest in high-tech medical equipment.
The Patient Experience Matters Most
“Just the other day a patient asked me if I remembered our first interaction,” Mark Abraham told us, “I didn’t, so he filled me in. He first came into my office with a foreign object in his eye, right before he was going on vacation. He remembers my office being filled with patients and my schedule being booked solid. But I took him back to the exam room because he seemed to be in such pain. As it turns out, it was just an eyelash on his eyeball, which I removed easily. And then, he told me, I informed him that he had glaucoma. He was shocked, so I took a few minutes to explain to him what he needed to do next. He was worried he was taking up other patients’ time, but I told him that if they knew what he was going through, they’d understand. He told me that because I took 20 or 30 minutes out of my busy schedule for him, I still have a loyal patient in him 8 years later.”
