THIS CHALLENGE IS YOURS TO WIN. REGISTER TODAY.
The NYC SEAL Swim is not a casual swim. It is a 3.5-mile open water endurance challenge through the Hudson River that demands preparation, discipline, and respect for the water. If you are planning to participate, training is not optional. It is essential.
Open water swimming presents unique physical and mental demands, including:
- endurance under fatigue
- changing water conditions
- mental resilience
- sustained pacing over distance
Proper training is critical not only for performance but for safety.
SWIMMER APPROVAL AND QUALIFICATION
All swimmers participating in the NYC SEAL Swim must be vetted and approved by Bill Brown, Swim Director, prior to entering the water on race day.
Participation in one of the official NYC SEAL Swim screening sessions is one of the primary ways swimmers can demonstrate readiness and qualify for approval.
These sessions are designed to ensure swimmers possess the endurance, open water capability, and preparedness necessary for a safe and successful event experience.
